ASUS’ official vendors are listing NUC mini PCs with 96GB RAM configurations at surprisingly low prices, but there’s a catch: the listings don’t mention that memory and storage are not included.
These listings are for barebone systems, which means they come without RAM or storage. For example, the NUC 12 Extreme is listed with up to 96GB of RAM, but the price tag doesn’t reflect the actual cost of adding that much memory. Buyers need to be aware that they’ll need to purchase RAM and storage separately, which can significantly increase the total cost.
This is important for mini PC and local AI users because it highlights the need to carefully check specifications and understand what’s included in the price. Always verify if the system is barebone or comes with RAM and storage to avoid unexpected expenses.
