AMD’s upcoming Ryzen Z3 SoC shrinks the Zen 6 architecture into a 25mm FF6 package, smaller than the Strix Point. This new package measures 25mm x 25mm, packing 8 Zen 6 cores and 16 threads, with a 45W TDP. It also integrates a Radeon 700M GPU, offering 8 CUs at 2.2 GHz.
This is a significant reduction in size from the Strix Point’s 35mm x 35mm package, while still delivering robust performance. The Zen 6 architecture brings improvements in IPC and efficiency, making it suitable for handheld devices.
For mini PC and local AI users, this means more powerful and efficient handheld devices are on the horizon. The smaller form factor could lead to more compact and portable devices without sacrificing performance, making it easier to run demanding tasks on the go.
