MINIX has launched the N304-AI mini PC, powered by Intel’s Wildcat Lake platform. This mini PC is designed to bring local AI capabilities to users, reducing reliance on cloud-based services. It delivers up to 24 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of total AI performance, with up to 15 TOPS coming from its dedicated Intel AI Boost NPU (Neural Processing Unit).
The N304-AI is equipped with an Intel Core 3 Processor 304, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X-6400 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD. This setup is optimized for local AI-assisted productivity, content generation, language processing, and other lightweight AI workloads. Running AI tasks locally can be beneficial for handling sensitive data, as it minimizes the need to send information to cloud services.
Despite its small form factor, the N304-AI offers robust connectivity options. It supports HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, each capable of driving a 4K display at 60Hz for up to three independent displays. This makes it suitable for multi-screen workstations, monitoring systems, and digital signage. For networking, it features two Gigabit Ethernet ports with support for link aggregation, alongside Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
The dual Ethernet setup is useful for network management and applications requiring a stable wired connection, such as retail and digital signage deployments. MINIX targets use cases like local AI assistants, document summarization, creative tools, lightweight containers, network dashboards, and development tasks. Its 24 TOPS AI capability can support real-time customer analysis and interactive displays in retail environments.
The N304-AI also includes a cooling system designed to keep operating noise low while maintaining effective heat dissipation. This, combined with its compact form factor and low-power hardware, makes it an ideal always-available computing platform for users who need a reliable system without the bulk of a traditional desktop.
